About Me

My name is Henry Reyes. I am a 33 year old male high school teacher, and I have spent the majority of my 7 year career fully immersing myself into my school community via sports, in all shapes and forms. In my teaching career, I have become the Athletic Director of our sports teams programs, for fall, winter and spring. I have also become a prominent leader in the freshmen welcoming committee, having spent multiple summers working with incoming students with disabilities, as well as helping lead some of the first attempts of family circle, a program designed to create small groups of freshmen to meet via zoom with a specific teacher (this was specifically designed for incoming freshmen during the pandemic). Alongside these hats, I spent multiple semesters working as a dean at my school, in which my duties were such as walking the hallways monitoring the campus for students in distress and working closely with the principal and assistant principal in problematic or troubling scenarios with students who were having a hard time in their studies, peer groups or even in their home life. All of these roles ultimately pushed me and my desire to have a Master's degree in Health Education.

I have also been very busy in my personal life in this very chaotic but rewarding teaching career. I met and married the love of my life, and we now have two beautiful daughters. I have submerged myself in the world of psychotherapy due to my own personal struggles with mental health. I have overcome a very serious back injury by following my personal beliefs of healing through the mind and physical therapy, rather than leaning heavily on pharmaceuticals and surgical choices.
